Compensation

• Competitive starting salary, ranging from $23.03/hr to $31.15/hr depending on experience ;
• Salary progression based on your Valtech experience, leading to a maximum salary of $37.01/hour ;
• Annual salary increase based on your performance.

Flexible work schedule

• Fixed day shift ;
• 2 schedule choices : finishes at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays.

Your Challenge

• Read and interpret drawings and plans ;
• Check part identification ;
• Select the required machine tool (lathe and milling machine, conventional machining) for machining the part according to the drawing and the required tolerance ;
• Select and install the tool to be used according to the material and the required tolerance ;
• Trace the parts ;
• Check and adjust the required cutting and feed speeds ;
• Turn, bore, grind, drill, mill, grind, and cut according to the drawing, paying particular attention to the safe use of machine tools ;
• Check dimensions using precision instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, ruler, etc.) ;
• Use overhead cranes and hoists to move, turn, and position parts safely ;
• Keep the work environment clean and safe ;
• Perform all other related tasks.

Qualifications required

• DEP in Machining Techniques or other equivalent training ;
• Experience with lathes, milling machines, and drills ;
• Experience in conventional machining.
